Open Lens Media Institute is a Zimbabwe-based media and journalism training organisation dedicated to promoting independent storytelling, ethical reporting, and media innovation. Established to bridge the gap between traditional and emerging media, the Institute empowers journalists, students, and community voices to tell impactful stories that foster accountability, civic engagement, and social change.

To be a leading hub for ethical, inclusive, and innovative journalism in Zimbabwe and across Africa. MissionTo nurture a new generation of media practitioners through training, mentorship, and partnerships, while amplifying diverse voices and advancing press freedom.
Core Objectives
• Build the capacity of journalists and media students in investigative reporting, data journalism, and digital storytelling.
• Promote ethical and socially responsible journalism grounded in transparency and accountability.
• Provide a platform of free expression for underrepresented voices, including women, youth, and rural communities.
• Foster collaborations between media, civil society, researchers and academic institutions to advance civic dialogue and informed communities.
• Support research on media innovation, AI adoption in newsrooms in Zimbabwe.
